The Passover (Pesach) Festival commemorates the story of the Exodus, when the Israelites escaped slavery in Egypt.
Celebrations begin with a special feast called the Seder, and for the next week, participants cannot consume any foods containing grain that has risen. This year, Passover begins at sundown on April 5th and ends at sundown on April 13th.
Some proper greetings are simply “Happy Passover” or “Chag Sameach,” which translates into joyous holiday.
