Our Story: Sourcing Talent from the West Coast and Beyond

Another Source was founded in 1991 to change the way recruiting works for mid- to director-level talent in HR, finance, marketing, legal, engineering, and other industries. We identified a need for customized industry insights and strategies that help our clients and candidates move forward. Our proprietary programs revolutionize the recruiting process through a time-based, flat fee approach that creates guaranteed results.

 

That’s why we put people first since our founding, from our clients looking for top talent, to the hopeful candidates we bring into our roster. Every business is unique—so that’s how we approach sourcing and staffing. We work hard to understand your business and brand, so we can get the exact right people for your organization. But what never changes is our simple flat-fee recruiting structure, so it doesn’t hurt to get the best talent.

 

In 2009, we added another specialty to our staffing service mix—recruiting for higher education. We saw the same gap in talent sourcing for colleges and universities that we had seen decades prior in the for-profit sector, and made it our mission to help institutions continue to hire talent worthy of their pedigree.

Marcie Glenn, CEO of Another Source, is revolutionizing the recruiting process by creating alternatives for hiring teams to use when developing a candidate pool. Marcie began her career at Ernst & Young before joining Another Source in 2000 because of her desire to make a more substantive impact. Marcie worked her way up from Sourcing Guru, to Sourcing Manager, to Director of Business Development, to VP of Operations, and now to her current role, CEO and Chief Talent Strategist. Marcie holds a BA in Accounting from Seattle University.

Marcie is a Certified Diversity Sourcing Professional (CDSP).

Interests

The word that best describes Marcie is tenacious.

Marcie has two daughters, ages 19 and 15, and loves playing yard games with her family at their cabin, cooking with friends, and creating budget-friendly interior decorating ideas. She has been married to the love of her life for 20 years. Her black lab, Frank, is her third child and the family mascot.

After acting as a critical interface for staffing roles at Microsoft and Anheuser Busch, Taylor decided to bring her expertise to Another Source as Director of Business Development. One of her primary strengths is her ability to collaborate with hiring managers and senior leadership. Taylor drives high levels of customer confidence by ensuring that all interactions with customers and candidates are timely and professional, while consistently identifying opportunities to improve recruitment processes. Taylor received her BA in Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast Communications and a minor in Marketing from the University of Nevada.

Interests

Taylor lives in Bend, Oregon and enjoys sun-filled days with her husband and little girl. She loves to be outdoors, walking on the beach, riding her bike, and running. When she isn’t playing with her daughter, you can find Taylor dining out while sipping a good glass of vino.

After dedicating 20 years to creating and managing HR teams in the manufacturing, high tech, and service provider industries, Stephanie joined Another Source as Senior Talent Strategist.

No matter what position she’s working on, Stephanie has a passion for delivering recruitment solutions that create choice in the hiring process. She is consistently recognized by her clients, her team, and her community for delivering exceptional results and exceeding expectations. Stephanie received her BA in Human Resource Management from Western Washington University.

Stephanie is a Certified Diversity Sourcing Professional (CDSP), which equips her with the tools, techniques and strategies to approach each search with diversity top of mind.

Interests

Stephanie enjoys devoting time away from work to her husband and two daughters. As a family, they enjoy watching and participating in sports, volunteering, travelling anywhere warm, and relishing all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. To find balance, Stephanie seizes any opportunity to use her creative mind.

Jake comes to Another Source with a background in recruiting and operations. He is motivated by process improvement, developing strong partnerships, and by positively impacting the candidate/client experience. Jake has a master’s degree in education from Seattle University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Interests

Jake lives in Seattle with his wife and their dog. When he’s not working on their house, you can find Jake on the river or at a Mariners game!

Jessica comes to Another Source with a background in full-cycle recruiting, employee placement and human resources. She has also worked in the creative arts as a photo editor! She enjoys working closely with candidates and setting them up for success. Jessica holds a BFA from Brigham Young University – Idaho.

Interest

Jessica enjoys landscape film photography and visiting National Parks. When she’s not traveling, she can be found cooking, experimenting with cocktails recipes or helping out in her nieces’ elementary school classes. She currently has a cat, but has also raised sheep, turkeys and cows in the past!

Lindsay jump started her career as a Recruiting Coordinator and Talent Acquisition Specialist for a rapidly growing Los Angeles company. Since joining the team at Another Source, Lindsay has embraced their unique business model and takes pride in providing the best possible experience through her recruitment efforts. She explains, “The best part of my job is getting the opportunity to learn every day through genuine conversations with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Connecting with people and helping them along their career path or hearing a client get excited because they hired an amazing candidate, is what gives me energy.”

If you were to sum up Lindsay in three words, they would be mindful, collaborative, and ambitious. Lindsay holds a BA in Business Administration at Idaho State University. Playing college basketball for the ISU Women’s Basketball Team exposed Lindsay to the D1 athletic recruiting process, which led her to pursue recruiting as a career.

Interests

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Lindsay made her way down to Southern California. She currently lives in beautiful San Diego, where you’ll most likely find her outside on a run, roller skating the boardwalk, or spending time with friends at the beach.  Lindsay also enjoys being an active part of the San Diego foodie scene and sharing these experiences with friends and social media. She believes music enhances everything she does and takes her playlists very seriously! Lindsay supports her community through weekly volunteer work for an at-risk youth organization, and being an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Becky is a lifelong learner who earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a teaching credential from California State University, Chico.  She taught junior and high school English but was always interested in Human Resources.  She began recruiting for Fortune 500 healthcare companies and that steered her career into recruitment management in higher education where she later became certified as a Career Development Facilitator.  An inherent helper and question asker, Becky enjoys learning about people and making a connection that benefits everyone involved.

Interests

Becky’s greatest loves are her family, fur babies, and travel.

On the weekends you’ll likely find her in the stands cheering for one of her 3 boys’ sports teams and reading a book during breaks.

Becky grew up in Wyoming but now makes her home in the warmer climate of Northern California where she can bike, hike, and explore new cities, countryside, and restaurants up and down the coast with friends and family.

She has served on the Orfalea College of Business’s inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Hannah thrives in a collaborative work environment where she has the opportunity to directly impact lives in a positive way.

Interests

Hannah enjoys both the city life and the “SLO”w life. Raised in the heart of San Francisco, she loves exploring her city with her friends and family, riding her bike in Golden Gate Park, hiking with her dog, and finding new restaurants to promote on her food Instagram. While she is at school in San Luis Obispo, she loves going to the beach, hiking the gorgeous peaks, and trying new coffeeshops.

Jessica recently received her MBA from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She has a BS in Marketing and a BS in Management from Oregon State University — Go Beavs!

Interests

Jessica calls the Pacific Northwest home and loves the weather, the food, and all of the outdoor activities. You can find her spending time with family and friends, especially lakeside paddle boarding and kayaking. She loves to explore new places to eat or spend a quiet afternoon reading and catching up on reality TV shows.

Zach brings a background in labor relations and recruitment to the Another Source team. After graduating from college, he spent five years as an HR Coordinator/Recruiter for a local food co-op – followed by two years as a regenerative farmer. He is motivated by building relationships, connecting people to their passions, and advancing the world of work. Zach has a bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations from Cornell University.

Interests

Zach is originally from Upstate New York and is excited about the life he is building with his partner in Seattle. He loves cooking, gardening, playing/watching baseball, and traveling. His most recent project has been converting his truck into a camper.

After nearly twenty years in higher education, Dayna joins Another Source as a Senior Talent Strategist where she brings her passion of helping people find their purpose. Dayna enjoys developing relationships and encouraging others to discover their unique skill set. She enjoys every stage of the recruitment process and helping individuals achieve their professional dreams.

Dayna holds a BA and MBA in Marketing Management from Cal State San Bernardino.

Interests

Dayna lives in a small mountain community in Southern California where she gets to experience all the seasons with her husband, twin daughters and much loved dog. Dayna enjoys the serenity of nature and often spends time camping and traveling with her family. She enjoys the entire outdoor spectrum: from lazy beach days and quiet hikes to the adrenaline of off-roading. In the rare quiet moments at home, Dayna loves to curl up with a good book.

Interests

Originally from the Chicago-area, Courtney recently moved to Portland, OR and has enjoyed all the outdoor parks and trails that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She loves being active outdoors, as well as cooking and traveling to new places. You can often find her exploring new restaurants, coffeeshops and binge watching her favorite tv shows.

Kelly began her professional staffing career in Southern California and has more than 13 years of recruiting experience across a wide variety of industries.  Both collaborative and tenacious, she enjoys connecting candidates with employers that grow together.  Leaning on her strength as a communicator, Kelly fosters a high degree of trust and confidence from coworkers, clients, and candidates.  Kelly received her bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from Bath Path University.

Interests

Kelly spends her time away from work with her husband and two sons in the Pacific Northwest and, when possible, with her daughter that just finished her degree at UMass Amherst.  The family enjoys time outdoors, sports, and travelling throughout the country.  When she isn’t working or with family, Kelly enjoys time and conversation with close friends.

Shreya is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo! Shreya is currently serving as the Director of Marketing for the Human Resources Management Association, where she curates content through weekly newsletters, flyers, and social media posts. Interests

Shreya is from a small town in the Bay Area with a prime location close to both the beach and mountains. She loves to spend her free time doing anything outside. From hiking, running, to reading in the sun, you can always find her basking in the good weather. Some other hobbies of hers are playing volleyball, cooking, golfing, and spending time with friends & family.
