Over the course of several years, a steadily growing non-profit attraction, The Seattle Aquarium, needed to fill a number of critical roles across different areas, including Conservation, Finance & Administration, Environmental Health & Safety, and IT. The seventh-largest aquarium in the U.S. by attendance, and the Puget Sound’s third-largest paid visitor attraction, this busy non-profit was also dealing with a large-scale seawall expansion and viaduct construction project nearby.
The aquarium’s HR team needed to facilitate and lead candidate searches, but had bandwidth constraints. Like most non-profits, they also needed to work within a restricted budget while balancing multiple competing responsibilities. To create bandwidth, they sought help with building and engaging qualified candidate pools. This way, they could optimize the recruiting process by leveraging their expertise with candidate interviewing and selection, skipping the tedious searching process.
Seattle Aquarium turned to Another Source, a longstanding and trusted recruiting partner of theirs, for assistance during this critical growth period. Our Talent Strategists got to work using advertising solutions, tourism industry associations, and other recruiting networks to create candidate pools that provided excellent choices for the aquarium’s hiring managers. We also worked closely with search committees to develop a recruitment strategy across the entire candidate lifecycle that was in line with the organizational culture and mission.
Due to its partnership with Another Source, Seattle Aquarium succeeded in identifying great talent without needing to spend their time attracting and engaging talent pools. And because of our fee structure, their HR team was able to partner with us on multiple roles, freeing up additional resources for other pressing initiatives. At Another Source, our innovative sourcing strategies and expertise continue to help the aquarium build their employer brand and attract the best and brightest, on time and on budget.
