Q3 2020 Update: Another Source Commitment to Dismantling Systemic Inequality In Recruiting

Aug 2020

Marcie Glenn

We committed to the following goals in our Commitment to Dismantling Systemic Inequality In Recruiting

  • Provide a visible, quarterly report on our growth and understandings as well as our diversity recruitment efforts on our website.
  • Create awareness and educate our partners, clients, candidates, and community on diversity recruitment best practices
  • Share talent pool demographics with hiring teams pre- and post-engagement.

As promised, we are sharing an update on how we are continuing our growth and understandings as individuals, a team, an organization, a service provider, and as a member of the community. We welcome your thoughts and experiences, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and start a conversation.

We’ve outlined the next 3 months of training and team discussions with the following approach:

In August, we are using a combination of individual and team training opportunities as we start with building awareness around our own unconscious bias’.  Here’s the links if you’d like take a closer look;  The Basics of Unconscious Bias, Are you Biased? I am, and Social Identity Wheel

In September, using a similar format, we will be focused on Communicating about Culturally Sensitive Issues.  Here’s the links if you’d like to take a closer look; Skills for Inclusive Conversations, Getting Over Your Fear Of Talking About Diversity; and Outsmart Your Own Unconscious Bias.

As we move into October we will begin work in building our cultural competency.  Here’s the links if you’d like to take a closer look; Communicating about culturally sensitive topics, Cultivating Cultural Competence, and What is Cultural Competency?
